Percy Jackson Annabeth Chase 7

Percy was dragged farther down the maze and into an empty cave. He pulled out his pen and struggled to pull the cap off. It grew into a three foot long celestial bronze sword and swung it at the wolf. It parried from the strike, "Calm down, Perseus Jackson. We know of your Achilles heel." He readied his sword. "I'll just kill you quickly so you don't get it." He charged at Salmoncus, Lycaon was quickly and tackled Percy to the ground. He laid there with his back facing towards them. "You made a mistake there Perseus." Salmoncus pulled out his dagger and aimed for his Achilles heel.
A large flash erupted in the cave, blinding Salmoncus making him miss the strike. Zeus struck Salmoncus with a lightning bolt and he was blasted into smithereens. Poseidon disintegrated the wolf with his trident. "Are you all right son?" He asked, helping Percy up.
"Yeah, thanks father. Thank you Lord Zeus"
"I will go and talk to Hades make sure that they will get special punishment." Zeus said, and then he turned into his original form and vanished.
"Come Percy, we must take you back to camp. Annabeth is very distraught." He was transported on his fathers chariot to Firework Beach at camp.
"Thank you once again father."
"Watch yourself Percy." And by that, he walked into the ocean and left Percy standing there watching.
He walked towards the cabins, the campers welcomed him back. He walked towards the Athena cabin. He took a deep breath and knocked, and he waited. No answer. He cracked open the door to see if anyone was inside. Sitting on her bed sat Annabeth with her face buried in her hands. "Hey wise girl." She looked up; her eyes were red and puffy from crying. She ran up to him and tackled him with a hug nearly knocking him over.
"Hey there, it's ok." He said.
"I thought you would be gone forever." She held him tighter. They stood there holding onto each other. "Come on lets go get some dinner, I'm starving." She rolled her eyes and together they walked to the pavilion. Sitting at the Poseidon table was Tyson and the new girl Leah. "So you are my new sister, welcome to the family." He said, she laughed and their food arrived. She was about to take a bit, but Percy reminded her that a portion of that goes to the gods. After dinner the three of them walked to their cabin and got ready for bed, she slept on the bed farthest away from Percy and Tyson's. Later in the week they became really close. Before breakfast one morning Percy walked over the Athena cabin to see Annabeth. She was sitting on the door step reading one of her Greek Architecture books. "Hey," He said and sat down next to her.
"Hey," She didn't look away from her book.
"Guess what… I got a quest."
She looked up, confused "Really?"
"No, just wanted to see your face."
She punched him in the arm and continued reading, but she had a smile on her face. The conch horn blew, it's time for breakfast. They walked down towards the pavilion and joined their cabin mates. Leah and Annabeth became close friends, and would hang out sometimes if Percy wasn't around. Annabeth walked to archery and on the way found Leah sitting on a rock, looking embarrassed. "Hey Leah what's up?"
"You know much on dating, right?" she asked
"I guess so. Why, what's wrong?" Annabeth said.
"Well just not so long ago Jack asked me to go to the fireworks with him. I heard stories from the other campers. That's the biggest dating event."
"Well Leah, take it slow. Don't think of it as a date."
"But if I want it to be a date?"
"First of all, you're too young to be dating; and second, take it real slow. Great friendships blossom into relationships."
"Like you and Percy."
"If you want to think of it like that; then yeah, like me and Percy," She said.
"Thanks Annabeth" and she ran off towards her cabin. Annabeth walked towards her archery lessons.
Percy went down to climb the super challenging rock wall. While he was climbing Leah was talking to him. He was halfway up the wall, "What did you say about Jake?"
"Jack actually, but he asked me to the fireworks."
Percy didn't hear it, "What?"
"JACK ASKED ME TO THE FIREWORKS!" She yelled; he heard that one. He was shocked, and lost his grip and fell fifteen feet, landing on the ground.
"Are you ok?" She asked.
He groaned, "I'm fine, but that doesn't matter. Jack asked you out?"
"It's not like a date, but we're just going together as friends."
"It better not be a date."
"You're too protective, but thanks for being so." She skipped off towards Jack.
"Nice fall Seaweed Brain." Annabeth laughed.
"Yeah it was a good one wasn't it?"
"Yeah, want to see me win against you on racing to see who gets to the top?"
"Yeah, I would love to see me win."
"Fine, meet you at the top." And she started her way up. Lava spewed out the sides, rocks breaking off and falling towards them. Percy reached the top to find Annabeth sitting there waiting for him. "Took your time getting here," she joked.
"Someday, I don't know when that day is, I will win."
"Don't count on it Seaweed brain" and she climbed down.
"She's incredible." He said, and followed her down.
It was now the forth of July and the campers went down to watch the fire works. Percy was more interest in watching Leah with Jack. "You're a good brother, but leave them alone." Annabeth said.
"You're right," he looked over at her and kissed her. The fireworks are over and the campers started to walk back to their cabins. He walked her to her cabin, "See you later Annabeth."
"See you Percy." She gave him a kiss goodnight and went inside. He walked to his cabin to find Leah leaning in to kiss Jack. "Hey Jack, hey Leah." He smiled.
They moved away from each other, blushing. "Hey Percy," Jack said. He waited for him to go inside, but Percy just stood there. "See you Leah." And he walked off. Leah stamped her foot in frustration and ran inside.
